Axisymmetric Vibrations of a Pressurized Cylindrical Shell Subject to Random Edge Loading,

Abstract

A theoretical analysis is presented of the damped axisymmetric motions of a pressurized cylindrical shell excited by a random axial load. For the special case of a white-noise excitation, the autocorrelation of the respective axial and radial responses of the shell is found to be an exponentially decaying sinusoid. (Author)
