Bedrock Geologic Data of the Upper Michigan Region: Project SANGUINE

Abstract

The purpose of the site study is to assist in determining the most appropriate location of the system within a specified geographical area considering both the optimum cost of system installation and the maximum environmental compatibility. The specific area studied is approximately 7300 square miles in area and encompasses most of the western portion of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The area includes all or portions of the following Michigan counties: Alger, Baraga, Delta, Dickinson, Gogebic, Houghton, Iron, Marquette, Menominee, and Ontonagon.
