Immunologic Indices during Sensitization of Animals with Antigen from Cultures of 'Trichophyton rubrum',

Abstract

A specific allergic state develops after sensitization of guinea pigs by intracutaneous inoculation of T. rubrum vaccine. Allergic tests were used for detection of sensitization: skin tests, Prausnitz-Kustner test, CFT in the cold and anaphylaxy test with desensitization. The skin reaction of the immediate type was observed in 58.3%, of the delayed type--in 97.9% of the animals. Prausnitz-Kustner test was found to be positive in 44.1% of guinea pigs, positive CFT--in 77.5%. All guinea pigs showed a positive anaphylaxy test with desensitization. (Modified author abstract)
