Laser Diagnostic Techniques at Polytechnic Institute of New York Aerospace Facilities

Abstract

A short discussion of some conventional diagnostic techniques, followed by a discussion of the Raman effect and the laser Doppler anemometer, is given. The apparatus used at PINY and the techniques developed utilizing the Raman effect are described. Some experimental results concerning concentrations of mixtures and temperature measurements in flames are presented and discussed.
