Abstract

The report constitutes Volume IV of a four-volume series on design and construction of new and overlay continuously reinforced concrete airfield pavement and contains guidance for construction fo these pavements. It contains recommendations for material requirements, construction requirements, equipment, concrete production and placement, steel placement, protection and curing, and field acceptance testing procedures and requirements. The general principles set forth are common to all types of concrete pavement construction but specific procedures and requirement are directed toward construction of pavements with continuous reinforcing steel.
