On the Confluence of Two Collinear Griffith Cracks.

Abstract

The solution of the mixed boundary value problem for two collinear Griffith cracks is examined to determine the behavior of the elastic field as the adjacent ends of the cracks come closer. It is shown that the solution for the single crack is not the proper limit of the title problem. (Author)
