Supplemental Global Climatic Data: July

Abstract

In the supplement to R-1029, the hemispheric distributions of sea- surface temperature, total cloud cover, planetary albedo, and outgoing longwave radiation for July are extended from hemispheric to global scope. All data are presented on a global grid of four degrees latitude and five degrees longitude. They are given both in tabulations and in the form of machine-drawn maps. The corresponding zonal and global averages are also given. These data are being used as a guide for evaluating climate simulations based on the Rand version of the Mintz-Arakawa general circulation model.
