Airborne TV System

Abstract

The report describes the development and test of 10 and 100 watt television transmission systems carried by helicopter. The purpose of the project was to determine whether the system meets the support-mission requirements of PSYOP warfare, and whether it can provide communications in the event of civil disaster. Transmission of both color and black-white programming material was successfully demonstrated. Test results also indicate that the 6- mile radius of ground coverage satisfied the range requirements associated with civil disaster activity.
