Emergency Distress Signalling Device

Abstract

The report describes the development and test of a rocket-launched transmitter/base-station receiver system designed to provide emergency communications capability between isolated patrols and their parent unit up to ranges of 100 miles. Upon receipt of the transmitted signal, the receiver console located at the parent unit base station produces visible and audible output signals which indicate that a specific patrol is in need of assistance.
