Evaluation of the USALWL (U.S. Army Land Warfare Laboratory) Weather Kit

Abstract

A small, compact, lightweight weather kit that can be carried on an individual's belt was developed. The kit can be used by untrained personnel after brief familiarization with the operating instructions. Kits were evaluated for field use. The components of the weather kit are the following: Sling psychrometer to measure relative humidity; Thermometer; Barometer/altimeter; Compass; Wind direction indicator; Wind speed meter; Rain gauge, and Water vial.
