Helicopter Downwash Data

Abstract

The report describes an investigation involving measurement of horizontal velocities, along and up to six feet above the ground surface, generated by the rotor systems of various Army helicopters during takeoff, hover, and fly-by operations. Measurements of ground-wash velocities during various operational modes were collected for OH-58A, OH-6A, AH-1G, UH-1H, UH-1M, CH-47, and CH-54 helicopters.
