Naval Research Laboratory Deep Ocean Search and Inspection System.

Abstract

NRL's Deep Ocean Search System (DOSS) is a refinement of the system used to locate the lost submarine Thresher in 1963. It consists of shipboard electronics, the facilities used for launching, towing and retrieving the towed vehicle (fish), and the instruments and sensors of the fish. (Author)
