Concerning Visual Detection of Moving Personnel Targets.

Abstract

The detection of moving personnel targets by individual soldiers is a complex process. The thesis examines variables that affect the acquisition process and how these variables are currently being modeled for analysis. A well-controlled experiment is analyzed to assist in establishing guidelines for future research in this area. The guidelines establish field experiment procedures, as well as the available probability distributions associated with target detection processes. (Modified author abstract)
