Further Work on the Integration of Closed Loops Specified Only as Discrete Data Points.

Abstract

The construction and use of a FORTRAN subroutine for evaluating the area and first moment of area of a closed loop are described. This subroutine has been used extensively for the evaluation of forces on aerofoils from measurements of their surface pressure distribution, and numerous examples are included. The subroutine is general enough to find applications wherever it is required to fit curves to discrete coordinate data defining a closed loop.
