Step Responses of Blocked Pneumatic Lines.

Abstract

Pressure step responses for rigid pneumatic lines blocked at one end were recorded for lines from 0.067 to 0.750 inches in inner diameter, 2.0 to 80.0 feet long. Each line size was subjected to a series of positive-going (vacuum) and negative-going (pressure) steps of plus or minus 0.5, 1.0, 2.0, 4.0, 6.0, 8.0 and 10.0 psig. The final steady-state pressure in the lines was ambient pressure, 11.3 psia. Selected average normalized step responses are shown in graphical form; complete results are given in tabular form.
