Physics of the Upper Atmosphere (Fizika Velkhnei Atmosfery),

Abstract

By means of Bennet type mass-spectrometers installed in meteor-rockets MR-12, in 1969, investigations were carried out into ion composition at altitudes of the E region in the mid and polar latitudes. In the mid latitudes, mass-spectrometric measurements were carried out in a program of complex investigation of the effects due to solar bursts. Among other experiments, two rocket launches with ion mass-spectrometers were carried out. A comparison was made of the composition in concentrations of ions before and during a magnetic storm accompanying a solar burst. (Author)
