Buoyancy Control of Open Circuit Scuba.

Abstract

The need for a device capable of compensating for the increased buoyancy which an open circuit scuba diver experiences as his air supply is depleted is discussed. Specific design assumptions and criteria are formulated for a 'buoyancy compensator'. Two compensators, one manually operated by the swimmer and the other automatically operated as a function of bottle pressure, are designed and constructed. (Modified author abstract)
