Interaction of Cylindrical Stress Waves on Free Surfaces (E Voprosu O Vzaimodeistvii Tsilindricheskikh voln Napryazhenii Vblizi Svobodnykh Poverkhnostei),

Abstract

When a rock massif is destroyed by explosion of a charge placed near a free surface, interference of the incident and reflected stress waves plays a large role. In order to study some of the typical properties of the interaction of stress waves and the destruction of a solid medium near free surfaces, explosions of flat models were carried out by photorecording of the process with a high-speed camera.
