Bulk Turbulence Equations for Fireball Modeling.

Abstract

Under the assumption that fireball turbulence is homogeneous, relationships are derived to allow the calculation of velocity, enthalpy, and electron density fluctuations. Electron statistics are related to enthalpy statistics through thermochemical equilibrium claculations and the construction of probability density functions. The autocorrelation function for electron density is related to that of the enthalpy fluctuations. A numerical procedure is developed for obtaining electron density profiles derived from an enthalpy fluctuation field having a specified autocorrelation. (Author)
