Holographic Horizontal Display System.

Abstract

Program goals were: (1) to extend the Holographic Moving Map Display Technology, (2) to improve the performance of the display and transport system, (3) to simplify the holographic recording processes, and (4) to develop the capability for presenting horizontal situation information, alphanumeric, graphical and continuous-tone sensor data for display with moving map data. During the course of the program, a new holographic recording facility was established for recording of large format, high quality focused-image holograms, and the technique for recording butted holograms was refined, allowing the implementation of a greatly simplified recording system. Improved hardware was assembled for the recording of address and registration holograms that are required for rapid access of the recorded image holograms when the holograms are pressed on extended length display tape strips.
