Analysis of Ballistic Calibration Data and Government/Contractor CEP Test Data with Respect to the AN/TPQ-27 Contract Incentive Fee Determination.

Abstract

Analysis is performed on the adequacy and appropriateness of the methods and analytical techniques used by NWL, Dahlgren, Va., in establishing the ballistic characteristic of the Practice Bomb Mark 76 with lug on the basis of October/November 1972 test drops. AN/TPQ-27 CEP test results are also analyzed with respect to potential system errors which could lead to observed bomb range discrepancies. On the basis of these analyses it is concluded that the source of the bomb range discrepancy is not associated with the Ballistic calibration but with the AN/TPQ-27 system. Possible sources of system errors are identified. (Author)
