Neutron and Gamma-Ray Fluxes for Pumping Lasers.

Abstract

The feasibility of using an electron-beam-triggered thermonuclear explosion to produce neutron and gamma-ray fluxes of interest for studies of neutron pumped gamma lasers and gamma-ray pumped HF and Xe lasers is analyzed. An experimental scheme is proposed which seems to satisfy all the requirements for use of a high energy electron beam. (Modified author abstract)
