Pretest Information for the Directionally-Controlled Antitank Ring Wing Gyro Canard in the 16T of AEDC.

Abstract

A test program is presented for the directionally-controlled antitank ring wing gyro canard mechanism. The purpose of the Arnold Engineering Development Center 16T wind tunnel test is to obtain photographic precessional data on the ring wing gyro mechanism over the angle of attack range -3 deg = or < alpha = or < 5 deg and Mach number range 0.3 = or < Mach number = or < 0.9 for Reynolds number 2,000,000.
