On Optimizing Supply Conditions for High Power Pulse Installations,

Abstract

The problem of determining the economically optimal power supply configuration for a high power pulse generator is considered. Two basic designs are discussed; one employing a current regulated converter and a simpler design which uses no stage between the generator and the pulse shaper. The merits of each are theoretically evaluated in light of short term and long term economic considerations.
