Dust Turbulence of the Working Flow in a Hypersonic Nozzle,

Abstract

In the literature there are practically no data on the degree of turbulence of the working flow in hypersonic wind tunnels, but it usually has been considered that the flow is laminar. However, during low-exposure photography of the working flow of a hypersonic tunnel, turbulence is clearly seen. One reason for the appearance of this turbulence can be the dust content of the working flow which is characteristic of all tunnels, especially hypersonic wind tunnels.
