Formation of a Shock Wave Ahead of a Flame Front,

Abstract

An investigation of the formation of a shock wave ahead of a flame front is of interest since the formation of the shock wave is accompanied by the production of a region in front of the combustion zone in which the state of the gas differs to a significant degree from that in an undisturbed mixture. This fact must be taken into consideration when solving a number of questions connected with shock wave - flame front interaction.
