Plastic Analysis.
Abstract
The paper provides an overview and evaluation of available general purpose plasticity programs and also presents some theoretical considerations necessary for the treatment of plasticity within the framework of a comprehensive structural analysis program. Definitions of several basic concepts are included to provide a user of these programs with the necessary ingredients for an understanding of the limitations of the applied numerical procedures. Accordingly, this information should be of value in an assessment of currently available software. Descriptions of the capabilities (e.g., element library, plasticity theories, solution scheme, etc.) of several comprehensive programs are presented. (Modified author abstract)
