Thermal Decomposition of Molten Lithium Carbonate,

Abstract

The equilibrium constant of the dissociation reaction of molten lithium carbonate in the temperature range 750-880C was meASURED5 A dependence of the apparent equilibrium constant on temperature was found and the change in Gibbs free energy was calculated. The dependence of the emf of the reaction system on lithium oxide concentration was measured, and it was determined that the solubility of lithium oxide in molten lithium carbonate is about 25 mole %.
