Study to Apply the 'New Generation' of Military Hospitals Planning Concepts at Travis AFB, California. Volume 2. Technical Narrative.

Abstract

An on-going ten-year program was initiated to study the military health care delivery system within the continental United States. The purpose of the program is to incorporate in this system new and innovative techniques in both health care planning and health care delivery to improve the quality while maintaining or reducing the cost of care provided. The technical narrative portion of the program was divided into two major parts: Demand model analyses to determine the workloads for the various TAFB health care delivery system components; and definition of the scope and estimated costs of implementing a new generation military hospital at TAFB. The demand model analysis portion of the study had two main components -- data collection and demand analysis.
