Maneuver Criteria Evaluation Program

Abstract

The Maneuver Criteria Evaluation Program (MCEP) is a digital computer program which solves the flight path equation of motion for a helicopter without auxiliary propulsion. The use of basic work, energy, and power relationships makes possible accurate representation of flight path trajectories. MCEP can be used to aid in the development of maneuver requirements which provide the necessary maneuver capability to perform the desired mission. This report presents a review of the program capabilities in addition to the background and development of the principal mathematical model in MCEP. A demonstration of MCEP is provided using a typical AH-1G helicopter gunship mission.
