Apprenticeship Personnel Shipboard Work Evaluation: Statistical Analysis

Abstract

The total Navy effort in the development of new/improved methods and techniques for the determination of qualitative Navy manpower requirements must keep pace with expanding needs for occupational data. Specifically, this research effort required designing of multipurpose data gathering tools and conducting a survey for non-rated Navy personnel to determine accurate job requirements. Collected data were analyzed and displayed as computer printouts. These printouts and their description have been distributed to users concerned with recruit training curriculum revision, training course requirements, common core development, personnel qualification standards, personnel qualifications for advancement revisions, and naval occupational task program data bank updating. This research report describes statistical methodology used in determining sample size. It also includes sections on research tool and technique design, ship types and numbers surveyed, data collecting methodology, and data reduction and presentation.
