Forecasting the End of Fog.

Abstract

The basic forecasting relationship requires only the classification of the fog situation into one of three categories according to extent of the fog area, the station's location therein, and determination of the surface geostrophic wind. The relationship was derived from some 94 case histories of advection-radiation or radiation fog. These occurrences came from some 20 major airports in the Eastern and central United States.
