Abstract

This report summarizes work on the following: A metallurgical investigation of explosion welded copper-nickel composites; Determination of optimum explosion welding parameters; Analysis and design of an explosion cladding facility; The mechanics of energy transfer from underwater explosions; The free forming of infinite plates under arbitrary charge distributions; Explosive thermomechanical processing; Explosive compaction of nickel-based superalloys; and, An analysis of the engineering economics of the explosive forming manufacturing pool facilities.
