Method for Improving the Appearance of Maxillofacial Prostheses Made from Terpolymer Latex.

Abstract

The unnatural milky, see-through and whitish appearance of prosthetic devices fabricated from the laboratory's terpolymer latex and painted on the inner surface has been eliminated by secondary spraying of the outer surface with an oil dye. The outer coating does not detract from the natural appearance of the undercoat of paints, but gives the device a more natural appearance while making the wearer less self-conscious about his prostheses.
