Packet Radio Experimental Repeater. Technical Plan

Abstract

The ARPA packet switched interprocessor communications net provides a low-cost wideband transmission media. The expansion of this net via radio to subscribers or stand-alone radio packet nets is needed for future command and control communication. This document describes some of the background and system design guidelines for developing a packet radio repeater, describes its operation, and defines the functional design. The repeater consists of a radio section using spread spectrum, differently coherent MSK modulation/demodulation techniques, packet handling microprocessor, and program software. The design and fabrication of the repeater is in process. (Author)
