Atmospheric Properties and Their Effect on Target Acquisition Under Flare Illumination,

Abstract

The atmospheric parameters of wind speed, ceilings, and surface visibilities are defined for various parts of Europe. Analyses are performed to determine their effect on target acquisition under flare illumination. It was determined that adverse weather conditions can degrade the usefulness of flares quite significantly. (Author)
