The Inspection and Evaluation of Experimentally Treated Wood Piling.

Abstract

Experimentally treated wood piles at Coco Solo, Canal Zone, were inspected in March 1974 and at Pearl Harbor in April 1974. Findings indicate dual treated piles will last twice as long as creosoted piles in waters of high borer hazard. Creosote solutions containing chemicals toxic to limnoria and combination treatments of higher retention are performing equally well. (Modified author abstract)
