Two Notes on the Malinvaud Condition for Efficiency of Infinite Horizon Programs,

Abstract

The condition referred to in the title as given by Malinvaud states that if a competitive program has a limiting value of inputs which is zero, i.e., limit as t nears infinity of (p sub t)(x sub t) = 0, then the program is efficient. In this paper it is shown that, for a whole class of one sector production models, the Malinvaud condition completely characterizes efficient programs. (Modified author abstract)
