Seismic Phenomena Connected with Earthquakes and Explosions

Abstract

Four task areas are discussed: Evaluation of seismic discriminants; understanding and determination of seismic source characteristics; determination of the earth's seismic properties; and, inversion of observations using crust and upper mantle properties to obtain the spatial and temporal characteristics of earthquakes and explosions.
