Stripline Flush Mount Antenna Array.

Abstract

The major development goals for the particular stripline array were electrical and mechanical in nature. Electrically, the antenna was to operate in the 2.2-2.3 GHz S-band TM region. The radiation coverage was to be omnidirectional at a moderate gain level. Mechanically, the array was to be flush mounted with a minimum of effort. The antenna was to use the smallest possible axial area on a nine inch diameter vehicle. The unit had to be light weight and withstand surface temperatures of 400F for short periods of time.
