Description, Principals of Operation, Fabrication Instructions, and Maintenance and Calibration Instructions, Peak Follower Circuit.

Abstract

The manual describes the operation, fabrication, maintenance, and calibration of the peak follower circuit (PFC). The PFC is an electronic instrument designed to simplify the reduction of T-burner data by converting acoustic pressure input into two output signals: PFC output and log amplifier output. The PFC consists of two separate modules. The first module consists of an absolute value circuit, a low-gain amplifier, and a log amplifier. The second module consists of a variable frequency low-pass filter. The PFC output signal is proportional to the envelope of the absolute value of the input signal. The log amplifier output signal is proportional to the logarithm of the PFC output signal. (Author)
