Branch-and-Bound Revisited: A Survey of Basic Concepts and Their Applications in Scheduling.

Abstract

The report is a critical review and assessment of the basic concepts used by researchers in applying the Branch-and-Bound approach. These concepts can be classified as related either to Branching, or to Bounding or to dominance and Feasibility considerations. The authors could discern fourteen dicta that seem to be most useful in the conduct of such search. (Modified author abstract)
