Production of Inconel 718 Mortar Tubes by Hydrostatic Extrusion

Abstract

Using subscale tubes, extrusion parameters were developed and then applied to full size 60mm tubes. It was shown that tubes can be satisfactorily produced at a reduced cost. Estimates were developed to mass produce hydrostatically extruded tubes. The processing parameters, dimensional results and economic analysis are presented in detail.
