Design of Fanned and Wedged Stacked Plate Polarizers for High Power Lasers.

Abstract

A large aperture, low loss, high damage threshold polarizer design has been developed to meet the requirements arising in isolation of large glass laser systems. The design differs from traditional designs to achieve desired rejection ratios with fewer plates and lower transmission losses. Polarizers of this design have been fabricated, tested and installed in the high power glass laser at the Naval Research Laboratory. (Author)
