Basic Investigations for Remote Sensing of Coastal Areas.

Abstract

The purpose of this contract is to investigate remote sensing methods for monitoring coastal areas. The effort is divided into three tasks, involving research on: Compositional mapping of beaches and river systems; multispectral radar imaging for coastal mapping; and enhancement of ocean bottom features with passive multispectral scanners. During the first quarter, significant progress was made on tasks 1 and 3, but work on task 2 has just begun, with nothing reportable as yet.
