Fifty Years of the Astrogeodetic Network of the USSR,

Abstract

The Soviet astrogeodetic network system over the past fifty years is discussed. It is the most complex and extensive in the world and was carried out by great numbers of geodesists in difficult geographical conditions. However, in spite of the huge area covered, the errors in first-class and second-class triangulation and other survey work are minimal.
