Air Force Data Base Management Systems Reference List and Annotated Bibliography

Abstract

This report lists the data base management system (DBMS) features of thirty-four (34) different applications of DBMSs in the United States Air Force. The features noted include storage structure used, operating environment of the DBMS, data manipulation language (DML) features available, DML type, factors affecting security and integrity, restart and recovery mechanisms, size characteristics of the data base, and on-line communication capabilities and primary use. An annotated bibliography of DBMS literature related to the features mentioned above is also included. The bibliography contains forty-seven (47) entries.
