Abstract
The status of multielement optrons among optical data processing systems is described. One possible variant of an 'active' optron is presented, based on solid-state matrices or panels with distributed parameters, of the emitting and photosensing types. The precision of analog-to-discrete conversion with a scanistor will depend mainly on the number of elementary cells N.
