Use of the Model of a Contracting Sphere in Thermal Dissociation of Solids,

Abstract

The solutions of a differential equation describe the process of thermal decomposition of solids in the kinetic, diffusion, and certain transition regions. The characteristic equations which were derived on the basis of the kinetic equations furnish information which is necessary for carrying out thermal decomposition under industrial conditions. In the present article a kinetic differential equation is derived for reactions of the type A(s) = B(s) + C(g), and its application is demonstrated.
