Experimental Use of Antibiotic-Immunodepressants,

Abstract

The antibiotic-immunodepressants (dactinomycin, bruenomycin, and rubomycin) in the doses used on the guinea pigs and hamsters selected for reproduction of the allergic reactions exhibited an expressed toxic effect. Dactinomycin in doses to 30 micrograms/kg exerted an expressed immunodepressant effect. Bruneomycin in doses of 0.75 mg/kg significantly inhibited the development of allergic contact dermatitis to 2,4-dinitro-chloro-benzene, but did not protect the animals from anaphylactic shock. Rubomycin in doses of 30 mg/kg did not inhibit allergic reactions of the immediate and delayed types.
